Hurricane Ike Recovery Help Wanted!

Dear Shipmate,

Link: http://messdeck.com/History/Ike_Recovery.pdf

All of our volunteers made it safely through hurricane IKE although
the losses were devastating for some. Some returned to
Galveston to find their homes swept away.

The situation at our Seawolf Park is grim as well. We lost some of the buildings including the storage container of artifacts. The ships floated out of their berths and didn’t make it back into
their trenches. Our Destroyer Escort is listing dangerously to starboard.
While the ships look sound, a great deal of work will go into restoration of the exhibits. Some of our volunteers are already at work and look for your help.

Our foundation is a 501 c 3 not for profit association and donations are tax deductible. We are selling IKE Recovery Crew Tshirts, in dark blue cotton, similar to our very popular Restoration
Crew T-Shirts. Please consider helping by:

• Volunteering for work at our Seawolf Park. We are tentatively
setting aside Saturday October 11th as a kick-off day
for new volunteers. Please send us an e-mail to gharrison@
amp173.hbs.edu should you be interested to help so
we can confirm the date and arrangements.

• Donating $50.00 and we will send you one T-Shirt (sizes
available: S, M, L, XL, 2XL) and a CHF membership ($25.00
value).

• Donating $100.00 or more and we will send you a T-Shirt, a
CHF membership and a U.S. Navy battle flag (Don’t Tread
on Me”) with a certificate of having been flown on our ships.
We thank you again for your support,

Grady Harrison
